AniFest Terms of Service

By purchasing a badge and attending AniFest, you agree to the following Terms of Service (TOS). AniFest reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. It is the responsibility of each attendee to review these terms periodically. If you disagree with any part of these terms, we advise against purchasing a badge or attending the event.

1. General Attendance Requirements

  • Attendees must comply with all event rules, venue policies, local laws, and regulations. Failure to comply may result in removal from the event and/or a ban from future events without refund.
  • AniFest badges are required for entry to all event areas. Attendees must wear their badges visibly at all times and may be asked to present additional identification for verification purposes.

2. Ticketing, Badges, and Refunds

  • All badge purchases are final, non-transferable, and non-refundable. Exceptions may apply only in specific cases, as outlined under “Cancellations and Postponements.”
  • Badges may not be resold or transferred to another individual without explicit written permission from AniFest organizers.
  • AniFest reserves the right to deny badge pickup or event entry to any individual based on prior conduct at AniFest events or other justifiable reasons.

3. Code of Conduct

  • AniFest is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior in any form will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to behavior related to race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, appearance, or religious affiliation.
  • Costumes and props are subject to inspection, and all weapons, including replicas, must be approved and peace-bonded by AniFest staff. Weapons that are real, dangerous, or fail to meet these standards will not be allowed.
  • Unauthorized vending, soliciting, or distribution of materials is strictly prohibited.
  • AniFest reserves the right to remove any attendee whose behavior disrupts the event or puts other attendees at risk.

4. Media and Photography

  • By attending AniFest, attendees grant AniFest and affiliated media partners the irrevocable right to capture and use their likeness in photographs, videos, or other media formats. AniFest retains all rights to this media for promotional and archival purposes.
  • Attendees are permitted to take photos and record videos for personal, non-commercial use. However, they must respect the privacy and consent of other attendees and follow AniFest’s photography policies regarding designated areas and guest interactions.

5. Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk

  • AniFest, its affiliates, employees, volunteers, and venue are not liable for personal injuries, property loss, or damages incurred during the event. Attendees accept personal responsibility for any risks or injuries that may arise from their participation in AniFest activities, including, but not limited to, crowding, cosplay, performances, and exhibits.
  • Attendees agree to indemnify and hold harmless AniFest from any claims or damages resulting from their actions, negligence, or violation of these Terms of Service.

6. Health and Safety Policy

  • AniFest is committed to ensuring a safe environment. Attendees agree to adhere to any health and safety requirements in place at the time of the event, including but not limited to social distancing, masking, or vaccination requirements.
  • AniFest may implement temperature checks, symptom screening, or other safety protocols as necessary. Attendees refusing to comply with health and safety measures may be denied entry or removed from the event.

7. Cancellations, Postponements, and Force Majeure

  • In the event of a postponement, badges will remain valid for the rescheduled event. Refunds will not be issued except under exceptional circumstances as determined by AniFest.
  • If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond AniFest’s control (such as natural disasters, public health emergencies, or government regulations), AniFest will offer badge holders options to receive a partial refund, transfer their badge to a future event, or donate their badge cost to support AniFest’s operational costs.

8. Children and Minor Attendance

  • Attendees under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Attendees aged 13-17 may attend without a parent or guardian but must have parental consent for registration and participation.
  • AniFest is not responsible for minors left unattended.

9. Intellectual Property and Vendor Policy

  • AniFest respects the intellectual property rights of artists and vendors. Unauthorized distribution, reproduction, or sale of copyrighted material is prohibited.
  • Artists and vendors are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses or permissions for the sale of products containing third-party IP. AniFest reserves the right to remove any vendor found in violation of this policy.

10. Special Events and VIP Access

  • Certain events, panels, or experiences may require additional passes or fees. These passes are subject to availability and may not be available for purchase at the door.
  • VIP badge holders must comply with all general attendance requirements in addition to VIP-specific policies. VIP badges may be revoked if these terms are violated, with no refund or partial refund.

11. Privacy Policy

  • AniFest collects and processes personal information solely for event-related purposes, such as registration, security, and promotional communications. Personal information is not sold or shared with third parties unless required by law.
  • AniFest employs reasonable safeguards to protect attendee data but cannot guarantee absolute data security. By registering, attendees accept the inherent risks associated with online transactions and data processing.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

  • Any disputes arising from these Terms of Service or attendance at AniFest shall be resolved through binding arbitration. By agreeing to these terms, attendees waive the right to file a lawsuit against AniFest.
  • These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

By purchasing a badge, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms of Service. AniFest reserves the right to amend or revise these terms at any time without prior notice.
